Your Safety is Priority Number One
The recent rise in the popularity of eyelash extensions has been
truly phenomenal. How wonderful it is that women all over
the world are now able to have the eyelashes they have always dreamed of.
Unfortunately, as the popularity of eyelash extensions has increased, so has the
number of substandard and unsafe lash applications being performed and unsafe
products being marketed. In addition, there is also a disturbing trend
of inferior application techniques being taught by unqualified
individuals, as well as, people teaching themselves by watching a DVD!
The Lash Bar takes pride in being Arizona's first eyelash
extensions salon and are very proud and protective of the reputation we
have worked so hard to establish. Our promise to you is that we will
never be tempted to "short change" our clients or risk their health just
to follow trends or keep up with the lofty claims of others who claim to
have "raised the bar" in this industry. The health and safety of your eyes and
eyelashes will always be our number one priority- no matter what.
We will never offer any service such as heavy crystals or extensions
exceeding .20mm in thickness, which are so heavy that they put the long term
health of your lashes at risk.
Check back soon as we will be posting many articles
discussing the effects of weight and stress on your lash hair follicles
and how they can actually cause your natural lashes to fall out prematurely!
Below is a listing of products that are currently Non-Approved for Lavish Lashes Professionals to use.
Product Safety Bulletin from Lavish Lashes, LLC
|
Product |
Reason for Non-Approval: |
|
.25-30mm density semi-permanent eyelash extensions - all colors and lengths. |
While these lashes that were released in 2007 in the United States have
gained popularity, Lavish Lashes has listed this product as Non-Approved in
that based on current studies the eyelashes are too heavy to attach to the
natural eyelash. These lashes may over burden the follicle and may
contribute to premature eyelash loss. |
|
Swarovski Eyelash Crystals - all styles |
If these products are attached to the eyelash they will burden the eyelash
follicle for an extended period of time. As this product is recommended to
be applied with semi-permanent eyelash extension adhesive these crystals
will remain on the eyelash for an extended period of time and may possibly
contribute to premature eyelash loss. Exception to this policy may apply if
crystals are to be worn on a short term basis for special events, etc.
Crystals should not be adhered to the natural eyelash for a period exceeding
24 hours. |
|
"FDA Approved" Eyelash Extension Adhesive |
This product as of the date of this
notice 10/09/2007 does not in fact exist. Regardless of claims by certain
manufacturers and distributors in the United States the FDA does not
currently regulate eyelash extension adhesive and this "FDA Approved Status"
does not exist. |
|
Consumer/Retail Home Use Self Application Eyelash Extensions |
These products have gained much popularity in the past year with the
advertisements on You Tube and other sources across the internet. These
products include an adhesive that should never be "self applied". Without
the proper training regarding consumers may not be aware of the risks
associated with these products when misapplied. Incorrect use may result in
serious injury. If you are a consumer and have considered purchasing these
products it is suggested you speak with a licensed professional about the
inherent risks associated with these products. You may also contact our main
office at 951-352-2068 with any questions you may have in regards to these
products. |
|
Y-Lashes All Sizes |
This product may put too much weight on the natural lash if applied incorrectly. Lavish Lashes, LLC is currently evaluating this product and will post it's findings in early 2008. |
